On November 21, 2018, in Talladega, Alabama, 24-year-old Brianna Nicole Post of Anniston was found deceased in the back of a vehicle following a confrontation between police and 48-year-old Eugene Benjamin Weathers. Officers responded to a report of a possible kidnapping and encountered Weathers, who opened fire on them. In the ensuing exchange, Weathers was fatally shot by the officers.
