A white female from Anniston, Post's life was cut short under violent circumstances that also involved a police shootout, leaving two officers injured and a suspect dead. The incident began with a report of a possible kidnapping, leading Talladega police officers to confront 48-year-old Eugene Benjamin Weathers.
Upon their arrival, officers were met with gunfire from Weathers. The ensuing exchange of fire resulted in Weathers being fatally shot by the police.
