In the early morning of October 28, 2021, the life of 31-year-old LaToya Shardae Merritt was tragically cut short in her Talladega, Alabama, home. A mother of three, Merritt was the victim of a violent act of domestic violence.

The man identified as the suspect was Kavaris Oden. According to reports, Oden forced his way into Merritt's residence on Howard Street and fatally shot her. It was later revealed that Merritt had an active restraining order against him at the time of her death. Th ...
