On August 18, 2010, at approximately 12:51 a.m., 16-year-old Anthony Devon Barnes was shot while in the 2200 block of Fairlawn Avenue SE, Washington, D.C. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the scene, where they found Barnes suffering from gunshot wounds. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
