Sixteen-year-old Anthony Devon Barnes, a Black male, was in the 2200 block of Fairlawn Avenue when he was shot. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 12:51 a.m. to find the teenager suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
