On May 18, 2019, 19-year-old Chrishawn Jermaine Westry was fatally shot during a high school graduation party at the Atmore Family Life Center in Atmore, Alabama. The event, held in the cafeteria of the former Escambia County Middle School, was attended by hundreds of individuals.
