On July 29, 2019, 21-year-old George Ralph "Trey" Leverette III was found shot multiple times near the intersection of Indian Springs Drive and Hiawatha Court in Eight Mile, Alabama. Leverette, a lifelong resident of Mobile, was discovered lying face down outside a silver Toyota Celica. Authorities believe he attempted to exit the vehicle to seek help after being shot. The Mobile County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) responded to the scene around 11 p.m. and initiated a homicide investigation.
