On September 14, 2019, in Hollywood, Alabama, 31-year-old Candus Yvonne Bowes was fatally shot during a domestic altercation at her residence on Poplar Street. Authorities responded to multiple 911 calls shortly after midnight and discovered Bowes deceased from a gunshot wound. Her partner, 32-year-old Jeremiah Adam Nix, was present at the scene and subsequently arrested and charged with her murder.
