On January 1, 2020, 49-year-old Carla Fluker Mack was fatally shot in her Lake View, Alabama, residence. Authorities reported that her ex-boyfriend, 57-year-old Carl Evans Boyd, entered her home around 5 p.m. and proceeded to her bedroom, where he shot her multiple times. Witnesses heard a commotion and observed Boyd leaving the scene calmly. Mack was discovered with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
