Shanaiya Alexis Wright-Williams, a 14-year-old girl from Elba, Alabama, tragically lost her life on August 9, 2023, in what authorities later confirmed as a homicide. On the evening of her death, Shanaiya was found with gunshot wounds in a residential area of Elba. Police received reports of a shooting and arrived at the scene to find the teenager unresponsive. Despite the efforts of first responders to save her, she was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital.
