In the fall of 2019, the life of 30-year-old Melissa Lanny Pelton was tragically cut short in Troy, Alabama. On the night of October 24th, law enforcement responded to a call at the Poplar Hills Mobile Home Park. Inside her residence, they discovered Pelton, who had been fatally shot. The grim discovery was made even more distressing by the fact that the violent act had occurred in the presence of her young child.
