On May 30, 2023, 12-year-old Jaquez Mirkel Wynn was fatally shot in Troy, Alabama. Officers responded to the 900 block of Pike County Lake Road after receiving a call about a person being shot. Upon arrival, they found Jaquez deceased from a gunshot wound.
