In the winter of 2019, the life of 34-year-old Candelaria 'Candy' Edwina Ealey was tragically cut short in Troy, Alabama. On January 30th, the community was shaken by the news of a violent incident that claimed two lives in what was described as a domestic-related event.
Authorities were called to a residence where they discovered the bodies of Ealey and a male individual.
Following an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths, law enforcement officials determined the case to be a murder-suicide. It was concluded that Candelaria Ealey was the victim of a homicide, and the male individual's death was a suicide.
The investigation revealed that Ealey died as a result of gun violence. Due to the nature of the incident being a murder-suicide, the perpetrator was identified as the individual who took his own life at the scene. Consequently, no arrests were made in connection with Ealey's death, and there were no subsequent criminal proceedings. The case was closed following the official ruling by the Troy Police Department.
