On July 26, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Troy Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of North Ridge Circle in Troy, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 59-year-old Essie B. Meadows lying outside her residence, deceased from a gunshot wound.
