A 52-year-old man named Michael 'Mike' Lucas passed away on March 13, 2020. A resident of Hoover, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham, he was a lieutenant with the Hoover Police Department at the time of his death.

Born in Alabaster, Alabama, to Wayne and Nancy Lucas, he was a 27-year veteran of the police force. He was a graduate of Bethel University and the Alabama Police Academy.
