Roderick Smith, a 32-year-old man from Birmingham, Alabama, was tragically shot and killed on May 9, 2020, in a violent incident that authorities later classified as a homicide. The shooting took place in the early morning hours when police responded to reports of gunfire in the 4900 block of 6th Avenue South, a residential area in Birmingham.
