On August 1, 2020, 27-year-old African American male Marquette Milous Carter was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 5:33 p.m., officers from the South Precinct responded to a call of a person shot at 924 45th Street North. Upon arrival, they discovered Marquette Carter suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
