On December 30, 2020, Montgomery police and fire medics responded to a shooting incident at approximately 2:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of Southmont Drive. Upon arrival, authorities discovered 37-year-old Jermaine Stephens, a Black male, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His death marked the 68th homicide in Montgomery for the year 2020.
