Rev. Lee Roy Gentry, an 87-year-old male, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. Born in Sylacauga, Alabama, on September 12, 1937, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served for over ten years. During his military service, he instructed courses in Dental Technology and Anatomy & Physiology.
Following his time in the Navy, he continued his career in the dental field for a total of 61 years, working as a Lab Supervisor and eventually becoming the co-owner of his own dental lab.
A licensed minister in the Congregational Holiness Church, he spent three years as an evangelist in Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. He later served as the pastor of Full Gospel Chapel in Prattville, Alabama, for 32 and a half years. Additionally, he held the positions of South Alabama Secretary and State Superintendent for the Congregational Holiness Church, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Velma Juanita Manning, and is survived by his three children, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. There is no information available from online sources regarding any arrests or suspects in connection with his death.
