On April 27, 2021, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a drive-by shooting occurred at the Homer E. Hayes Soccer Complex on the 200 block of Glen Crest Drive in Fairfield, Alabama. A vehicle drove past a group of young men gathered at the park, and an individual inside the vehicle fired multiple shots using a high-powered weapon. The gunfire resulted in five individuals being struck.
