Eric Jamal Lynn, a 26-year-old male, was fatally shot in Eufaula, Alabama, on Sunday, May 2, 2021. The incident occurred in the early morning hours at the Eufaula Housing Authority apartments on Dale Road. Officers from the Eufaula Police Department responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Lynn with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Medical Center Barbour, where he was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation into the shooting, authorities identified a suspect.
Later that same day, Jaquantae Dajour Quintez Smith, 21 years old at the time, was arrested in connection with Lynn's death. The Eufaula Police Department charged Smith with murder. He was subsequently booked into the Barbour County Jail. The investigation suggested that the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Lynn and Smith.
