Damana Perry Jr., a 17-year-old Black male from Montgomery, was caught in a burst of gunfire on the afternoon of June 23, 2021, when police were called around 1:40 p.m. to the 100 block of Rotary Street after reports that several people had been shot. When officers arrived, they found Perry and 18-year-old Car’Terius Brown with fatal gunshot wounds, both dead at the scene.
