In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 18, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in Montgomery, Alabama, leaving a community in mourning. When police and paramedics arrived at the scene of the shooting, they found 33-year-old Donyale Taylor suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. A woman was also found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
