On April 21, 2022, at approximately 8:10 p.m., 30-year-old Javail Lamar Hodges was fatally shot in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Berkley Avenue, where Hodges was standing outside a vehicle, conversing with someone inside. During this interaction, he sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The vehicle involved fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
