On May 6, 2022, 45-year-old Michael Cook from Prattville, Alabama, was fatally shot in Montgomery. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM in the 3500 block of Dalraida Court.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of 31-year-old Travis Mims, also from Prattville.
