On May 6, 2022, 45-year-old Michael Cook from Prattville, Alabama, was fatally shot in Montgomery. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM in the 3500 block of Dalraida Court.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of 31-year-old Travis Mims, also from Prattville. Mims was charged with Cook's murder and was already in the custody of the Department of Corrections for unrelated charges when Montgomery Police Department homicide detectives served him on November 18, 2022.
