On a Saturday evening in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 39-year-old Carlos Jones, a Black male, was cut short by gunfire. The incident occurred on March 12, 2022, in the 1700 block of Upper Wetumpka Road. First responders arrived at the scene around 6:50 p.m. to find Jones with a fatal gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
