On March 12, 2022, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Montgomery police and fire medics responded to a shooting incident in the 1700 block of Upper Wetumpka Road. Upon arrival, they discovered 39-year-old Carlos Jones, a Montgomery resident, suffering from a gunshot wound. Jones was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following the incident, authorities arrested 21-year-old Alabello Barrera, also of Montgomery, charging him with capital murder in connection with Jone ...Read More
