On January 21, 2022, 19-year-old Eric Surles Jr. was fatally shot in Montgomery, Alabama. The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. on Alabama River Parkway. Upon arrival, authorities found Surles with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
