On a Sunday evening in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of a young Black man, Caron Giles, was tragically cut short. On February 23, 2025, the 24-year-old was fatally shot. First responders rushed him to Jackson Hospital, but despite their efforts, Giles was pronounced dead from his injuries. The Montgomery Police Department was called to the hospital and immediately began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, which they are treating as a homicide.
Investigators
believe the shooting occurred at approximately 6:36 p.m. in the 500 block of Eastdale Road, near an apartment complex off the Atlanta Highway. Details about what led to the shooting have not been released to the public. The Montgomery Police Department has made a public appeal for assistance in identifying who was responsible for Giles's death.
As the investigation continues, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been publicly identified. In an effort to generate leads, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has offered a cash reward for any information that leads to the apprehension of the person or persons involved in the murder.
