On the night of November 28, 2023, 39-year-old African American male Melvin Washington Jr. was fatally shot in Montgomery, Alabama. The incident occurred around 10:00 PM in the 800 block of Oak Street and involved a triple shooting. In addition to Mr. Washington Jr.'s death, a woman sustained life-threatening injuries, and another man was injured but survived.
