On the night of May 29, 2024, at approximately 11:30 PM, 26-year-old Johnny Matthew Butler, Jr., of Montgomery, Alabama, was fatally shot in the 1000 block of Ann Street. This area, situated just off Interstate 85, is near several establishments, including a Chick-fil-A and a Walmart Supercenter.
