In the early morning hours of June 26, 2022, a dispute in Marbury, Alabama, tragically ended the life of 33-year-old Geames Kyle Weathers. A white male resident of the area, Weathers was involved in a confrontation that resulted in him being shot multiple times.
Later that morning, around 8 a.m., deputies from the Autauga County Sheriff's Office were called to the 3000 block of Highway 143 in Marbury after receiving a report of suspicious activity.
Upon their arrival, they discovered a trail of blood which led them to Weathers's body.
The investigation quickly pointed to Richard Kiley Clecker as the primary suspect in Weathers's death. The Autauga County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for Clecker's arrest on the charge of murder. Described as being armed and dangerous and known to carry a machete, law enforcement sought the public's assistance in locating him. Later on the same day as the discovery of Weathers's body, Clecker was taken into custody.
Following his arrest, Richard Kiley Clecker was charged with murder. Subsequent records from August 2024 show an additional charge of promoting prison contraband. As of early 2026, court records and inmate information indicate that Clecker remains in custody in Autauga County.
