In the quiet neighborhood of Dormont Drive in Huntsville, Alabama, the life of 15-year-old Javarri Kirk was tragically cut short in what has been described as a devastating accident. The young man, who had recently moved to Huntsville from Tennessee with his mother, Shatima Morris, was looking forward to his 16th birthday and had aspirations of playing football at Jemison High School.
On a fateful Friday night, Kirk was at the home of his 17-year-old best friend.
The two were in a room together with a firearm when it discharged, fatally wounding Javarri. Investigators believe the 17-year-old was holding the weapon and thought it was not loaded.
