On July 7, 2022, 29-year-old Brittany Phillips was fatally shot in Webb, Alabama. The incident occurred in the early morning hours as Phillips was returning home from a party, accompanied by a friend she was giving a ride. Her ex-boyfriend, 35-year-old Benjamin Adam Nowell, allegedly followed her vehicle and intentionally collided with it on Knowles Road. When Phillips exited her car to call 911, Nowell reportedly pulled alongside her and shot her while still seated in his vehicle.
