Destiny Lawson, a 17-year-old Black female from Birmingham, Alabama, was killed on the night of May 12, 2026, after what police described as a shooting inside a residence in the city's West End area. Officers were called shortly before 10:30 p.m. to the 100 block of 17th Street Southwest after a report that someone had been shot.
