On August 21, 2025, Angelicca Amber Newton, a 29-year-old woman, was fatally shot in Lipscomb, Alabama, in what authorities have described as a domestic violence incident. The shooting occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of 5th Street North and 6th Avenue North while Newton was a passenger in a truck. At the time of her death, Newton was between six and ten weeks pregnant.
