On July 25, 2022, Dwight D'Angelo Thomas, a 19-year-old from Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot. The incident occurred in the evening, with the Birmingham Police Department responding to multiple ShotSpotter alerts around 8:45-8:55 PM in the 700 block of 6th Avenue West.
