In the early afternoon of September 11, 2022, Justin Jamond Hendrix, a 35-year-old male, became the victim of a fatal shooting in a quiet suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. The incident unfolded at approximately 12:43 p.m. at a Wells Fargo ATM located on West Valley Avenue in Homewood. Hendrix was in the process of conducting a transaction when the tranquil afternoon was shattered by the eruption of gunfire.
Surveillance footage from the scene captured the chilling moments of what police
have described as a targeted, ambush-style attack. A black 2013 Volvo XC90 is seen pulling up behind Hendrix's vehicle. An unknown individual emerged from the passenger side of the Volvo and, without any apparent warning, fired multiple shots at Hendrix. The assailant then quickly got back into the vehicle, which fled the scene, leaving Hendrix with fatal injuries.
