In the early morning hours of March 2, 2023, the city of Selma, Alabama, was rocked by a violent act that claimed the life of 20-year-old Quintaris Sharod Perkins. A male, Perkins was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound, seated in the driver's seat of his silver Chevrolet at the intersection of Division Street and Burgundy Avenue. The Selma Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the area around 8:30 a.m. and found Perkins, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
