In early May 2023, 19-year-old Anastasia Gilley, who was four months pregnant, was reported missing from her home in Greenwood, Florida. Her disappearance prompted a multi-state investigation involving both the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in Florida and the Houston County Sheriff's Office in Alabama. On May 10, 2023, authorities discovered a body near Headland, Alabama, which was later identified as Gilley's.
