LaMarch Russell, Jr., a 21-year-old Black male from Montgomery, Alabama, was killed on July 10, 2023, in a shooting that left two young men dead on Hugh Street. That night, around 8 p.m., Montgomery police and fire medics were called to the 1200 block of Hugh Street, where they found Russell and 25-year-old Melvin Steiner, Jr. suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
