On July 22, 2023, in Scottsboro, Alabama, a dispute between neighbors escalated into a fatal shooting. Around 1 p.m., officers from the Scottsboro Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 300 block of Maple Avenue. Upon arrival, they found 34-year-old Angel Nicomedes Peralta, originally from Panama City, Florida, suffering from a gunshot wound. Peralta was transported to Highlands Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
