On March 31, 2024, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Scottsboro Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at 207 W. Willow Street, the location of Warehouse 207 restaurant. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Deuntae Jarrod Johnson lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. Johnson was immediately transported to Highlands Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
