On August 7, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 5000 block of 41st Way North in the Inglenook community. Upon arrival, they discovered 33-year-old Hueytown resident Darcy Jamere Joseph unresponsive inside a vehicle that had been shot into. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
