On October 27, 2023, at approximately 9:29 p.m., Gadsden Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Fresh Value grocery store located at 2519 West Meighan Boulevard in Gadsden, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old Briantez Vinson lying in the parking lot with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Despite prompt medical attention from Gadsden Fire medics, Vinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
