White/Caucasian male Timothy Thornton, age 71, died on September 7, 2025, in the Coats Bend community just north of Gadsden, Alabama. Around noon that Sunday, Etowah County deputies conducted a welfare check at a home on the 6000 block of Old Highway 411 and discovered two people shot to death inside the residence.
