In the late hours of a March evening in East Gadsden, Alabama, a transaction turned deadly, leaving a young man fighting for his life. Jacob Graham was discovered inside his Infiniti G35 at 11:50 p.m. on March 30th, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to UAB Hospital for treatment, but tragically succumbed to his injuries approximately two weeks later.
Before he passed away, Graham was able to provide detectives with crucial information, stating that he had been robbed and shot while attempting to sell a gun. This final account from Graham himself would prove instrumental in the subsequent investigation.
Following Graham's death, what began as an attempted murder and robbery investigation was elevated to a capital murder case. Jakarious Markel Moore, 19, of Odenville, D'Angelo Devante Martin, 26, of East Gadsden, and Kendrick Terril Williams, 19, of Gadsden, were taken into custody. Initially, the three men were charged with attempted murder and robbery.
