On January 30, 2024, 38-year-old Christopher Ryan Martin was found deceased in room 235 of the M Star Hotel in Chickasaw, Alabama, with a gunshot wound beneath his chin. A 9 mm shell casing was discovered near his neck. Surveillance footage revealed that at approximately 3:40 a.m., a man entered Martin's room; a gunshot was heard at 3:41 a.m., and the individual departed in a dark SUV.
