On December 15, 2021, 50-year-old John Weston Horton was fatally shot in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the Chevron gas station located at 3800 Joe Mallisham Parkway. Horton was seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked at the station when a man approached and shot him through the passenger window. The woman driving the car, who was not injured, was in a relationship with Horton.
