On February 3, 2024, 19-year-old Kirby LaShun Tate Jr. was found shot to death outside a residence in the 300 block of Norwood Avenue in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 12:48 p.m., and Tate was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter. The Bessemer Police Department responded to reports of a person shot and initiated a homicide investigation.
