In the late hours of Sunday, January 18, 2026, the life of 19-year-old Tyler Neil Alexander of Birmingham, Alabama, was tragically cut short. A recent high school graduate, Alexander was working a shift at the Amazon fulfillment center in Bessemer. During his break, at approximately 10:40 p.m., a barrage of gunfire erupted in the employee parking lot on Powder Plant Road. When the shooting ceased, Alexander was found on the pavement, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
