In the summer of 2025, a domestic dispute in Brighton, Alabama, a community near Bessemer, escalated to a fatal conclusion, claiming the life of 39-year-old Adolphus Reuben Milligan. On the evening of Saturday, July 12th, deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on Letson Street following a report of a person down. Upon their arrival, they discovered Milligan suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the response from Birmingham Fire & Rescue, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
