On the night of July 18, 2024, in Bessemer, Alabama, 43-year-old Demetrius La Keen Fletcher was fatally shot. The incident occurred just before midnight in the 1900 block of 10th Avenue North. Upon arrival, authorities found Fletcher deceased at the scene. Witnesses reported that an argument had preceded the shooting.

In the days following the incident, Bessemer police arrested 47-year-old Tracey Darnell Rush in connection with Fletcher's death. Rush was charged with murder and held in ...Read More
